A marketplace for customisable products

Emblzn – Create yourself

Product design lead

MVP release October 2013

Emblzn is a marketplace for designing, sharing and buying customised products online and was once described as Nike iD for anything. The platform facilitated the sale and creation of clothing, furniture and footwear online, which were fulfilled by the manufacturers and designers signed up to the service.

The project started with one brand and grew to 50 in just under a year. Emblzn won the Innovation of Fashion competition set by InnovateUK and as a result, partnered with London College of Fashion and the Centre for Fashion Enterprise. On top of that we were invited to China by the UK consulate on business mission, presenting to Chinese businesses.

I worked as part of a small, founding team to design and develop a digital product for both enterprise and commercial uses. In that time I pitched at trade events in China, Berlin and London, feedback from which helped us to refine our digital product. Emblzn has processed over £20,000 worth of customised products around the globe.
